The year has kicked off with a hiss and a roar, and the music room is alive with creative energy already!
All students are welcome to use the music room during break times for instrument practice and composing/recording with the available gear. Practice rooms will be available to book for groups in the coming weeks.
As well as classroom music, students can learn with a tutor in weekly lessons. These usually take place during a 30 minute time-slot during classtime, with times rotating each week to reduce impact on subject classes. This year we have tutors available for guitar/bass, drums, woodwind, brass and strings. We are looking to have a piano/keyboard tutor begin teaching later in the year.
Our itinerant tutors will be giving a showcase concert to Y7-9 on Monday, where they will be able to hear a range of instruments they may wish to start learning this year. Students can sign-up for lessons on our JMC Arts Hub at the link below, with lesson placements and timetables getting sorted and underway over the coming weeks.
