Supporting the College

Since McGlashan began in 1918 its survival and success has been dependent to a large degree on the generosity of many organisations and people. Generosity in time and money. Many Old Boys have given generously over the years giving their time to serving on Boards and Committees. Old Boys, alongside other organisations, have also been generous in providing funds for equipment and buildings (Edgar Learning Centre, Davies Sports Centre) that have enabled McGlashan to be among the top schools in New Zealand.

Most financial contributions have been in response to a building project, and this will continue to be the case. However, there are always opportunities to contribute to smaller projects (sports teams, drama venues etc.), or to simply donate to a fund to which staff can apply.

Non-financial contributions can be in the form of engaging with College life through mentoring students, membership of a Board, coaching or visiting classes. Contact alumni@mcglashan.school.nz to discuss any of these options.

Financial options at this point are limited in terms of how you direct your funds. Hopefully, in the near future the options will be expanded and can be accessed via the ALUMNI page, as well as via the College’s SUPPORT US page. Leaving a bequest or establishing a scholarship in your name are popular ways of supporting the College.

Giving back is an important part of who we are. Supporting the College is a very important way of ensuring what our children and grandchildren can be.
