Welcome back to the Library for a new school year.
Our SHRIMP bags, packed full of holiday reading, have been very popular again over the summer break. Well over 1,000 library books and magazines were borrowed, including everything from the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book to wild food cookbooks, literary classics, and basketball biographies. Thank you to everyone who has already returned their SHRIMP bags. If you haven’t already done so, please return yours to the Library as soon as possible so that the books are available for others to borrow.
Last year we were extremely pleased to have a large group of hardworking and enthusiastic student librarians. Their assistance with helping fellow students to use the Library, issuing and returning books, and keeping books shelved and the Library tidy is invaluable. Once the full training programme is completed, student librarians are awarded a badge to recognize their service. The first meeting for those wishing to be student librarians for 2024 will be in the Library at interval on Thursday 8th February. We’re looking forward to having a great group of librarians again this year.
