What a great first term we have had. With happy, busy boys and lots of different activities they are involved in. It has been great to see the boys catching yabbies’ and cooking them. Fishing, but I don’t think there has been anything caught yet.

But they have has fun trying.

At the end of the holidays I was lucky to spend a few hours watching the rowing boys at Lake Ruataniwha. It was good to see them on the water and doing well. They are a hardworking team who are putting a lot into their training and reaping the rewards.

The newbies have settled well and have been getting involved in a variety of sports and activities. As I look out the window today there are boys at rugby training, cricket and outside making the most of the last of the summer days we are having.

With some boys being extremely busy with commitments it is important for them ‘protect’ themselves from overcommitting and spreading themselves too thin. By protect I mean taking time out here and there for themselves to do something relaxing they enjoy.

Health wise the last few weeks there have been a few boys with nasty colds who have been feeling miserable but they have picked up quickly.

Please let me know your decision re flu vaccine as soon as you can.

The letters and parcels you send are a great hit with the boys. They really appreciate them. The boy’s have smiles on their faces when they receive them.

I am encouraging them to write letters back.

Enjoy the up-coming long weekend.
