A stack of new Librarians | John McGlashan College

We have had another great response to our quest for librarians this year with 20 new boys signing up from all year levels.

Training is held every Thursday at interval. Reminders appear in the daily notices but we expect students to let us know if they can't make it. We have four fabulous seniors who help with training and provide support and fun to our large group - Head Librarian Rylan Urquhart and Senior Librarians Kaleb Durant, Zac Brooking and Jacob Cushen.

Student Librarians are trained in:

JMC library culture
good customer service
finding their way around
using the library for research
running the Issues Desk
knowledge of the library website and Wheelers ePlatform.

Apart from learning valuable library skills which will set them up for their years at McGlashan, our focus is on creating a team, working together and sharing their skills and love of reading.
