Biology students in the Dive Otago pool

Students had a classroom session where they learnt about the safety, physics and biology of diving. They then had a pool session in the Dive Otago tank where they put the theory into practice. Finally they had an open water session at Wellers Rock. The boys were thrilled to be swimming amongst moki, butterfish and a host of other fish species. The weather was amazing and we avoided the thunderstorms that the CBD experienced. Unluckily (or maybe luckily) we narrowly missed seeing an orca and her young that had been sighted in the harbour around the same time as our trip. Thanks to Kian and Emma at Dive Otago and to Rachael Gardiner for arranging STAR funding for the trip.
