John McGlashan College A-Squad Trapshooting by Shane Sanders:

Friday 11th September 2015

This season has been reasonably successful so far with most of the boys winning something at one of the Inter-collegiate and open-grade shoots.

Trap Shooters clean up last weekend!

This includes numerous high overall trophies, and gold, silver and bronze medals throughout the squad with small portions of money that members won for shooting a possible from the Bodkin Shield weekend. Personal highlights for the team are trips away for the Bodkin Shield weekend, Wanaka and Alexandra Inter-collegiate, and South Islands. This year at the Wanaka and Alexandra Inter-collegiate secondary school shoots, the five man squad that consisted of Arthur Chapman Cohen ©, Cody Clark, Shane Sanders, Scott McKenzie, and Harry Russell won both of the team events. This included reclaiming the Taieri Shield in Alexandra for the first time since 2011. Scott McKenzie was also awarded the Otago/Southland Aggregate Skeet Trophy for his efforts throughout the season. Nationals are held in Hamilton this year with a squad of six attending to represent John McGlashan College. I would like to say a special thanks to our coach John Fook’s, and to all of the parents for the support and good food (i.e. sausage rolls) that make the season memorable.
