Monday 5th March 2018

On the 13th February, John McGlashan College held its annual ‘Meet the Teacher’ night for Year 7 and 8 families.

The evening commenced with dinner in the school dining room where families brought their own takeaways and were introduced to key teaching staff. Afterwards, parents broke up into Homeroom classes to meet their son’s teacher.

The evening allowed parents the opportunity to understand the role of the Homeroom teacher, guidance and support networks and student expectations.

A core belief that was reiterated by teachers during the evening was the importance of the home and school partnership. Our Teachers promote this partnership as it has been found that the greater the engagement between parents, families and schools, the greater the positive impact on student learning.
