"We are pleased to announce that they were awarded First Place for the region"

Each year, our students in Year 7 and 8 have the opportunity to form a band and enter Rockshop BandQuest, an event that gives them the opportunity to perform on stage to an audience in a professional environment with lighting and sound equipment. Our junior rock group State of Me, consisting of Matthew Hall, Matthew Hanna, James Kinney and William Cameron, recently performed live at the Otago regional final at Taieri College, playing the two songs ‘In The Air’ by L.A.B. and ‘Never Enough’ by Six60.

We are pleased to announce that they were awarded First Place for the region, which is an incredible achievement with 15 other bands from other Dunedin schools entered. Matthew Hanna also received an award for Best Bassist for his performance. Congratulations boys!

We are all looking forward to seeing what the future holds for these boys, as well as other new rock groups that form in 2021.
