This year's Year 7-10 Go McGlashan Read got underway this week.

This annual event helps raise funds for both the library and a local charity. This year we are supporting our local Surf Life Saving New Zealand clubs. To tie in with this, the theme for this year is 'Ride the Reading Wave', as you can see in the photo of the fantastic decal on the library door.

By now boys should have signed up their sponsors, based on the number of books or minutes read over the two week period. However, it is not too late to sponsor one of our students in this endeavour. To reach their goals, students are reading during most lessons, as well as during our SSR time, and, hopefully, at home as well. Many have a running stopwatch on their iPads to keep track of their minutes!

This year we have gone electronic with the recording of sponsors and minutes/books read. The boys have accessed a Google spreadsheet via a Google classroom, so please get them to show you how this works.

On a final note, there will be a prize for the student at each year level that raises the most money, and a chocolate hamper for the formclass that raises the most money.
