Rugby has always been a key sport at McGlashan and still provides a way for Old Boys to stay linked to the College
The Tartan Club has been formed to provide that link and strengthen Old Boys engagement with McGlashan.
TC was formed to create a legacy connection for past and present players and supporters. JMC have in the last few years achieved success from an ‘organically’ strong Rugby Culture and Players giving some traditionally strong Rugby Schools a real run for their money. 2016 was a stellar year and on the back of this we now have higher calibre Coaching and a High Performance Program with our lead attending the world class ‘Crusaders Rugby Course in May. The Rugby Committee this year agreed on a 5-year plan and we have a clear strategy going forward that whilst academia is paramount to our focus, Rugby is firmly part of our College culture. We’ve had tremendous support for membership, but a massive opportunity is there for the many Alumni to join us in this endeavor.
The Tartan Club has been created to keep Past and Present John McGlashan Rugby Players and Supporters connected and to help raise funds for the current and future betterment of Rugby at the School.
The College has a proud history and Rugby programme going from strength to strength and we want you to be a part of that and to feel a valuable part of our teams

What funds raised will do to support College Rugby:
· Support coaching and physical training
· Ensure teams are well resourced with equipment
· Assist and support players and teams through our High Performance Programme
