Thursday 9th August 2018

We recently had Open Night and Open Afternoon here at the college and parents who attended were very impressed.

On Tuesday the 31st of July, we hosted over 350 visitors to our 2018 Open Night. It was a busy day with over 200 boys from Timaru Boys' High School down here for the day for our inaugural winter sports exchange.

The John McGlashan pipe band welcomed our guests and it was difficult to move the visitors into the Chapel as we now have over 20 in the band and they put on quite a show. After we had some information from Principal Neil Garry, board chairs Tim Hannagan and Tony Sycamore, and Rev. Barry Kelk, we let our senior boys show the guests around the school. We had more than 50 senior boys that helped out on the night with well over 100 boys helping to showcase the school. At the supper, the parents were certainly blown away by the college's facilities, teachers and students.

This was followed up with the Open Afternoon on the following Thursday. This was a day where the prospective parents could see how the college functions on any given day. We had the school prefects tour the 150+ guests around on a sunny afternoon.
