John McGlashan Academic Awards

These awards were handed out at our first Assembly of the year last week. First, there is the John McGlashan Academic Badge. This is given to boys who gain 50 or more excellent credits during an academic year. NZQA recognizes this as what they call an ‘Overall Excellence Endorsement.’ At John McGlashan College, we award a series of badges to show that boys have met this criteria at level 1, 2, or 3.

The next award is the John McGlashan ‘Scholars Tie.’ This is given to NCEA students that have also gained at least 3 excellent subject endorsements and for IB students who have a total of at least 32 points.

Finally, John McGlashan award entry to our ‘Scholars Club.’ This means that NCEA boys have achieved either 4 excellent subject endorsements OR 3 excellent and 2 merit subject endorsements. For IB students, they have achieved a total of at least 34 points.

The following Year 12 boys have gained an Academic Badge for NCEA Level 1.
