Our latest batch of student librarians has completed its training and are ready to spread the good word about reading at JMC.
Eight boys recently qualified as Student Librarians and are rostered to help out in the library at lunchtimes and intervals. The training programme involves: processing new books, finding information on Accessit (the Library system), using the library webpage (see link) and the promotion of books and reading within the college.

Congratulations also to Zack Stalker who has been promoted to the position of Senior Librarian. Zack opens the library for the boarders every Tuesday night and is valued for his unassuming manner and his responsible and reliable service. Well done, Zack.
We have a school-wide focus on encouraging boys to talk to each other about the books and stories they love. Student Librarians play a crucial role in developing an enthusiasm for reading, for both personal growth and academic improvement. Parents are also essential in the reading lives of their boys; as reading role models, talking about books, reading to them and making reading a part of family routines. The library has a fabulous selection of the very latest titles, mostly chosen from the boys' suggestions, including a variety of audiobooks, graphic novels, Biographies and Quick Reads. We welcome enquiries and suggestions from parents so please talk to us if you would like to borrow from our collection - we are always happy to hear from you.
